ProEMS vs Edunext: which one fits how your school runs?

Edunext is the wider and older product. It says it was founded in 2012 and helps 1400+ schools, and its pages describe Tally integration, inventory, GPS bus tracking, WhatsApp, online classes and online fee payment for parents, none of which ProEMS has.[1] ProEMS covers records, attendance, fees, exams and report cards for schools and colleges on one product, and it publishes its prices, from ₹79 per student per year before GST. Edunext does not publish pricing (checked 21 October 2026), so you only learn its cost by asking.

Which should you choose?

Choose Edunext if

  • You want accounting with Tally, inventory with purchase orders, a hostel module, or payroll with a PF ECR file in the same system.
  • You want buses tracked live, or RFID readers and face-recognition attendance from the same vendor.
  • You want parents to pay fees in the app, and WhatsApp reminders with payment links.
  • You want live online classes, or AI exam proctoring.
  • You want a vendor that says it was founded in 2012 and helps 1400+ schools (1,300+ on its admission page), with 1100+ report card formats for CBSE, CISCE, IB and IGCSE.

Choose ProEMS if

  • You want prices on paper before a sales call: ₹79, ₹169 or ₹249 per student per year before GST, with a ₹12,000 yearly minimum.
  • Your needs are the school office, fees, exams and report cards, and you'd rather switch on only the modules you use.
  • You run a school and a college, or several, and want one product with a separate database and web address for each.
  • You want a one-month trial, no set-up fee and no lock-in.
  • You want to know where the data sits: AWS Mumbai, an encrypted database, daily backups with 7-day recovery.

How do ProEMS and Edunext differ in what they cover?

Edunext covers more of the school's back office, and it offers some hardware. Its pages describe accounting with Tally integration, inventory with purchase orders, a hostel module, payroll with statutory files, transport with GPS, an admissions CRM, WhatsApp, online classes and exam proctoring.[8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20] It also lists a GPS device for buses and RFID readers.[16, 22]

ProEMS is narrower. It covers student, parent and staff records, attendance, fees, exams and report cards, certificates, admissions, library, transport records and payroll, in three plans, for schools and colleges on one product. The useful question is whether you would use the extra modules, not which list is longer.

Where is Edunext stronger?

In more places than ProEMS is, and some of them are large.

  • Finance and accounts. Ledgers, trial balance, balance sheet and Tally integration, ECS and NACH fee collection, and payroll with a PF ECR file.[7, 8, 18] ProEMS has no Tally or accounting export and no payslip PDF.
  • Campus operations. Inventory with approval levels and goods receiving notes, a hostel module with room allotment, online transport requests, and live bus tracking.[12, 13, 14, 15] ProEMS has no hostel module and no inventory, and keeps transport as records only.
  • Parents. Fee payment in the parent app, live bus location, and WhatsApp reminders with payment links.[6, 15, 20] On ProEMS only the student login can pay fees, and there is no WhatsApp.
  • Hardware. A GPS bus device with geo-fencing, RFID readers and face-recognition attendance.[16, 22, 23] ProEMS supports RFID card and barcode attendance, and fingerprint attendance for staff, but has no bus GPS.
  • Academics online. 1100+ report card formats, CBSE result import, classes on Zoom, Google Meet and MS Teams, and exam proctoring.[1, 9, 10] ProEMS has no live classes.
  • Scale and track record. It says it was founded in 2012 and helps 1400+ schools; its admission page says 1,300+.[1, 19] ProEMS has been built since 2019 and publishes no customer count.

If your school wants its own branded parent app, Edunext also claims 200+ personalised school apps.[21] ProEMS uses one app for all schools, with an organisation code on the first screen.

Where is ProEMS stronger?

In a few narrower ways. ProEMS does not match Edunext's range.

  • Price and terms in the open. ₹79, ₹169 and ₹249 per student per year before GST, no set-up fee, a one-month trial and no lock-in. Edunext's published terms add one-time implementation and training charges and renew automatically.[3]
  • One product for schools and colleges. Programs, courses, terms, backlogs, admit cards and university Excel sit beside the school features. The Edunext pages we read describe schools only.
  • Known hosting and separation. AWS Mumbai, an encrypted database, daily backups with 7-day point-in-time recovery, and a separate database and web address for each school, such as yourschool.proems.in.
  • ICSE and ISC paperwork. Council List and nominal roll exports are part of ProEMS. Edunext says it complies with CISCE requirements, but the Edunext pages we read don't mention a Council List, so ask to see it. Our guide to the CISCE Council List explains the filing.

What does each one cost?

ProEMS prices are on the pricing page: ₹79, ₹169 and ₹249 per student per year before 18% GST for Silver, Gold and Platinum, with a ₹12,000 yearly minimum. For 600 students on Gold that is ₹98,865 a year before GST, or ₹1,16,660.70 with GST. There is no set-up fee, hosting and the apps are included, and SMS and payment gateway charges are passed on at cost. Quarterly billing costs 10% more. The trial is one month with no lock-in.

Edunext does not publish pricing (checked 21 October 2026). Its menu has no pricing link and its pricing address redirects to a not-found page.[1] Techjockey lists the price as available on request, and SoftwareSuggest asks you to request a quote.[2, 26] Its terms do say that the client bears one-time implementation and training charges, that payment can be monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly, and that the subscription renews automatically.[3] We have not seen a rupee figure from Edunext itself, so we quote none.

Whichever vendor you ask, get these in writing:

  • The implementation and training charge, and what it includes.
  • Whether the price is per student, per module or per campus, and what changes at renewal.
  • Who pays for SMS, WhatsApp and payment gateway charges.
  • The notice you must give to leave, and what data you get back.

Where do I find the Edunext parent app or login?

This page is a comparison, not Edunext's login, and ProEMS is a different company. Your school gives you the Edunext login. The parent app is “Edunext Parent” on Google Play, from Edunext Technologies, and the App Store listing has the same name.[6, 27] The Google Play listing says features vary by school. Edunext also says it has built 200+ school-branded apps, so your school's app may carry the school's name.[21] If you can't find the right one, ask the school office which app it uses. The listing gives a parent helpdesk number for calls and WhatsApp, 9 am to 5 pm on working days.[6]

What does moving from Edunext to ProEMS involve?

Mostly an Excel export from Edunext and an Excel import into ProEMS. Both sides have limits, so go in this order.

  1. Read your contract before you give notice

Edunext's published terms say the subscription renews automatically unless you cancel before it ends, and that leaving needs official prior notice.[3] Your own agreement may differ, so check the dates first.

  2. Get your data out, including earlier years

The same terms say that on termination the current year's data can be downloaded in MS Excel format.[3] They mention only the current year. Ask Edunext in writing for earlier years of students, fee ledgers and marks, and ask before you give notice. Edunext itself says it starts customers with an Excel data port for students, staff and library records.[28]

  3. Load the sheets into ProEMS

ProEMS takes data through Excel import and migration templates. Migration from non-Excel sources is not included. Our guide to moving from Excel to a school ERP covers preparing the sheets.

  4. List what you use every day

Accounting with Tally, inventory, hostel, GPS tracking, live classes, WhatsApp and parents paying in the app do not move, because ProEMS doesn't have them. If you use Edunext's RFID or GPS hardware, ask us what will work before you plan to reuse it. ProEMS supports RFID card and barcode attendance, the Mantra MFS100 fingerprint scanner for staff attendance, and no bus GPS.

  5. Trial one real class and one fee cycle

Use the one-month trial. Check opening balances and fee dues for a sample of students against your old records before you load the rest.

  6. Tell parents which app to use

They install ProEMS on Android or ProIMS on iOS (the iOS listing carries that name) and enter your school's organisation code on the first screen. Parents see results and attendance in the parent login on the web, not in the app. See the mobile app page.

FAQ

Common questions

Short answers. The sections above have the detail and the sources.

Does Edunext publish its prices?
No. We checked its website on 21 October 2026 and found no price. Its menu has no pricing link, and Techjockey and SoftwareSuggest both ask you to request pricing. ProEMS publishes its prices: ₹79 (Silver), ₹169 (Gold) and ₹249 (Platinum) per student per year before GST, with a ₹12,000 yearly minimum.
Is ProEMS cheaper than Edunext?
We can't say, because Edunext does not publish pricing. Ask both for a written quote for the same student count and the same modules, and include set-up, training, SMS and payment gateway charges.
Does ProEMS have hostel, inventory, GPS tracking, Tally or WhatsApp like Edunext?
No. Edunext's pages describe inventory, a hostel module, GPS tracking, Tally integration and WhatsApp. ProEMS has no hostel module, no inventory, no GPS or live bus tracking (transport is records only), no Tally or accounting export and no WhatsApp messaging.
Can parents pay school fees in the app?
On Edunext, its gateway page and the Google Play listing for its parent app mention fee payment through the app. On ProEMS, no. Students pay on the web from the student login, and the apps show fees but take no payments.
Where is Edunext hosted?
It says it moved to AWS in 2017 but does not state the region on the pages we read (checked 21 October 2026), so ask. ProEMS is hosted on AWS in Mumbai (ap-south-1), with an encrypted database and daily backups with 7-day point-in-time recovery.
Is Edunext ISO certified?
We found no ISO or SOC certificate named on the Edunext pages we read, so treat it as unstated and ask. ProEMS makes no ISO 27001 or SOC 2 claim either.
Where do I download the Edunext parent app?
Search for Edunext Parent on Google Play or the App Store, or ask your school office which app it uses, because some schools have their own branded app. This website is for ProEMS, a different product, and cannot log you in to Edunext.
How do I get my data out of Edunext before moving to ProEMS?
Edunext's terms say that on termination the current year's data can be downloaded in MS Excel format. They mention only the current year, so ask in writing for earlier years before you give notice. Then load the sheets with ProEMS's Excel import templates. Migration from non-Excel sources isn't included.
