For principals

Know how the school is doing before assembly.

The principal's dashboard puts staff, classes, students, parents and admissions on one screen. Attendance reports reach your inbox on Monday morning, and every class's marks, results and teachers' daily reports are open to you, not just the classes you teach.

In short

What does a principal see in ProEMS?

A principal sees the whole institution: a dashboard with staff, class, student and parent counts and this session's admission registrations, plus attendance, marks, results, homework and teachers' daily reports for every class and section.

That last part is the difference from a teacher's login. A teacher sees only the classes and subjects assigned to them; the principal's view covers all of them, so you can open Class 4-C's attendance or Class 11's physics marks without asking anyone.

The principal is a staff member with the Principal box ticked on their profile. Which modules you can open, and whether you can change things or only read them, is set by the permissions your office gives that role.

A working day

What does a principal's Monday look like with ProEMS?

A principal's Monday on ProEMS starts with two attendance reports already emailed and ends with results and fee figures ready for the management meeting. In between, it's reading and deciding rather than collecting numbers.

  1. 01:00

Last week's class sheets go out

Every section's student attendance for last week is saved as an Excel sheet, with P, A and L for each day and a percentage per student, and emailed to you and each class teacher.

  2. 07:00

    Staff attendance in your inbox

The weekly staff attendance PDF arrives for you and the attendance manager: every staff member's days present last week and their attendance percentage.

  3. 09:30

    A look at the dashboard

Home shows active students, staff, classes and parents, this session's admission registrations and confirmations, and the current school and class news.

  4. 11:00

    Leave approved, proxy assigned

A teacher has applied for Thursday off. Approve it in Leave and assign a proxy teacher, and the timetable for that day is updated.

  5. 14:00

    What was taught today

DPR Reporting shows what each teacher logged for each class, so you can see Class 9's maths has reached quadratic equations without leaving the office.

  6. 16:30

    Ready for the management meeting

Export Class 10's rank list with percentiles as a PDF from Result, and take the collected and pending figures from the Fee Dashboard.

What you'll use

Which parts of ProEMS does a principal use most?

The parts that report rather than record: the dashboard, attendance, results, teachers' daily reports, fees and leave. Cards marked Gold or Platinum need that plan; the rest come with Silver.

Which reports reach a principal without asking?

Two, every Monday, as long as email is set up for your school: last week's student attendance for every section as Excel sheets at 1 am, and the weekly staff attendance PDF at 7 am, which also goes to the attendance manager.

Everything else you pull when you need it: a class's rank list with percentile, result graphs, the fee dashboard, forecast and the day's collection, and on Platinum the defaulter list and collection for any date range. With the right permissions on your role, none of it has to be requested from the office or the accounts desk, because it comes from the same records they work in.

Can a principal check what's being taught without walking the corridors?

Largely, yes. DPR Reporting shows what each teacher logged for each class every day, the homework list shows what's been set across every class, and Exams Scores opens any section's marks for any exam.

On Platinum, the syllabus teaching report adds how far each class has got through its units. None of this replaces a classroom visit, but it tells you which visit to make first.

Which plan does a principal need?

Gold covers what most principals read every week. Silver already gives you the Principal Dashboard, both attendance reports and teachers' daily progress reports; Gold adds report cards, plus rank lists with percentile, the fee dashboard and the day's fee collection.

Platinum is worth it if you want the advanced fee reports (defaulters with SMS reminders, concessions, collection for any date range), staff leave with proxy teachers, or the syllabus teaching report. The pricing page lists every module by plan.

FAQ

Questions we hear first.

Something else on your mind? Bring it to the demo and we'll answer it there.

Is there a separate dashboard for the principal?
Yes. A staff member with the Principal box ticked on their profile lands on the Principal Dashboard, which shows staff, class, student, alumni and parent counts, admission registrations and confirmations, and the day's school and class news.
Who gets the weekly staff attendance PDF?
The principal and the attendance manager. It's emailed every Monday at 7 am, covers the previous week, and lists each staff member's days present and attendance percentage.
Can a vice principal see all classes too?
Yes. The office can tick Show all classes on any staff profile and set that person's role permissions module by module, so a vice principal or coordinator sees every class without being made an admin.
Can the principal approve staff leave in ProEMS?
Yes, on the Platinum plan. Staff apply for leave, the principal or the office approves it and can assign a proxy teacher, and the proxy is added to the timetable for that day.
Can the principal see fee collection figures?
Yes, if the principal's role has access to fees. The fee dashboard, the forecast and the day's collection and abstract come with Gold; the defaulter list, concession details and collection for any date range are Platinum advanced reports.
