For CBSE schools

A school ERP for CBSE schools that grades the way you do.

ProEMS doesn't come with a fixed grading scale. You type in your own, list your co-scholastic and discipline areas, and print report cards, rank lists and transfer certificates from the marks and records your teachers already enter.

In short

How does ProEMS work for a CBSE school?

ProEMS gives a CBSE school a grading scale it sets itself, co-scholastic and discipline grades each term, report card PDFs and a rank list with percentage and percentile, all built from the marks teachers enter.

ProEMS has no link with CBSE itself. It grades from the bands you enter and the areas you list, and nothing is sent to the board from ProEMS.

Fees, attendance, timetables, certificates and the parent app work just as they do for every school on ProEMS.

What you'll use

Which ProEMS features does a CBSE school rely on?

These seven do the assessment work. Fees, attendance and the app sit alongside, as they do for every school on ProEMS.

  • From Gold

    Your grading scale

Type in each grade and its percentage band once. ProEMS grades every subject from the marks, and each exam can show or hide the grade column.

  • From Gold

    Co-scholastic and discipline grades

List your co-scholastic and discipline areas, then grade every student on one screen for each class, term and exam.

  • From Gold

    Terms and exams

Set up the terms with their dates, then the exams in each term, each subject with its own maximum and passing marks. Clone an exam to set up the next.

  • From Gold

    Marks entry with a lock

Subject teachers enter marks and lock them when they're done, so nothing changes by accident before the report cards print.

  • From Gold

    Report card PDFs

Marks, grades, co-scholastic grades, attendance, result and remarks on one card, printed for a single student or zipped for the class.

  • From Gold

    Rank list

Export the class rank list as a PDF with obtained marks, percentage and percentile, or take the full results into Excel.

  • From Gold

    Transfer certificates

Issue the TC from the student record with your next serial number filled in. The student's login closes when it's issued.

Through the year

How does the assessment year run on ProEMS?

It starts with a round of set-up and then runs on the marks your teachers enter. Here's an April to March session through the exam cell's eyes.

  1. Apr

Set the scale and the terms

Enter your grade bands, co-scholastic and discipline areas, the terms and their exams. Clone an exam rather than building each one again.

  2. Each test

    Marks in, then locked

Subject teachers enter marks for their sections and lock them. The class teacher watches the totals build on the results screen.

  3. Term end

    Co-scholastic grades

Class teachers grade every student in each co-scholastic and discipline area on one screen, picking from your own grade list.

  4. Sep

    Half-yearly report cards

The office prints the class's report cards in one go as a zip of PDFs, and the principal gets the rank list with percentage and percentile.

  5. Mar

    Finals and promotion

Final report cards print the same way, then students move to their next class on the progression screen and the new session begins.

  6. Any time

    TCs for leavers

Pick the student, check the details ProEMS fills in from the record, add the reason for leaving and export the TC as a PDF.

Can we use our own grading scale?

Yes. You type in your grades and the percentage band for each one, and ProEMS uses those bands to grade every subject on the report card.

The same grade list is used when teachers grade co-scholastic and discipline areas. If an exam shouldn't show grades, switch its grade column off. To check a mark against a scale by hand, try the CBSE grade calculator.

What goes on a ProEMS report card?

A ProEMS report card shows each subject's marks against the maximum, with the total, average and grade, the co-scholastic grades, the overall percentage, attendance, the result and remarks, and signature lines for the class teacher and, depending on the class, the supervisor or principal.

Attendance on the card is entered for each exam, so you decide the working days it counts. Rank and percentile go on a separate rank list rather than on each child's card. For how schools lay out the scholastic and co-scholastic parts, see our guide to CBSE assessment and report cards.

How do co-scholastic and discipline grades work?

You list your co-scholastic areas and your discipline areas in settings, and class teachers grade each student in each area for a term and exam on one screen, picking from your grade list.

The co-scholastic grades then print on the report card next to the subject marks, so the card shows the whole child rather than just the marks. Nothing about the areas is fixed: name them the way your school does.

FAQ

Questions we hear first.

Something else on your mind? Bring it to the demo and we'll answer it there.

Is ProEMS made for CBSE schools?
ProEMS is school management software that works for CBSE schools through its settings: you enter the grading scale, co-scholastic areas, terms and exams, and it produces report cards, rank lists and TCs from them. It has no tie-up with CBSE.
Does ProEMS send data to CBSE, UDISE+ or APAAR?
No. ProEMS doesn't connect to the CBSE, UDISE+ or APAAR portals and doesn't submit anything to them. It keeps your student records and exports them to Excel, which helps when your office fills in those portals.
Can each exam have its own maximum marks?
Yes. Each subject in an exam has its own maximum and passing marks, so a periodic test out of 20 and a half-yearly paper out of 80 sit side by side.
Can co-scholastic grades go on the report card?
Yes. The co-scholastic grades your teachers enter for each term print on the report card alongside the subject marks.
Can parents see results in the app?
Students see their results in the ProEMS app once you switch results on for their section. Parents see results in the parent login on the web; in the app they get news, messages, photos, the calendar and fees.
